Peperboom Restaurant

What a nice experience I had visiting this restaurant. I requested assistance with the blinds and the owner assisted and we started talking. I ended up spending hours there. Then I ordered food, what an amazing dish! Staff was very friendly and helpful and the chef even came to ask if everything was to my liking. Thanks Frikkie and staff for a wonderful lunch. This is the restaurant to visit when in Grootbrak.

The owner Lourens was a great host. Took the time to talk and made us feel welcome. Food was splendid and I were impressed with their Burgers. My recomendation to Lourens was to splash their Pepper burger with Pepper and to fill their Gin glass to the brim! Minor suggestions to ensure another visit!

Took our vegetarian granddaughter and family here for a birthday dinner. New owner is friendly, eager to please and has widened the menu to include more variety. Our waitress was brilliant, kept all her tables happy. We had five different dishes, all excellent.

Place was understaffed on new year's so obviously waiting on food took a while - nonetheless, the chefs made amazing food. Impressed with morale of waiters. Schnitzel and pizzas were amazing

As a casual diner on holiday, I wasn't in any rush, and the place delivered on all fronts for a relaxed meal. The setting is absolutely charming, with outdoor seating overlooking the river and lush greenery. It's got that perfect mix of rustic and intimate, ideal for a laid-back evening. The lighting and decor create a warm, inviting ambiance that enhances the whole dining experience. The food was simply fabulous – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We tried a variety of dishes, from seafood specials to hearty grills, and everything was cooked to perfection with high-quality ingredients. Portions were generous, and the flavors really stood out, making it one of the best meals we've had on our trip. Drinks (Excellent): The drink selection complemented the meal perfectly, with a great range of local wines, craft beers, and creative cocktails. They were well-made, refreshing, and paired wonderfully with the food – definitely a highlight. Service and Waiting Time: The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the positive vibe. However, there was a noticeable wait for the food to arrive, which could be frustrating if you're in a hurry. Since we were on holiday with no schedule, it didn't bother us at all – we just enjoyed the views and chatted away. Value and Recommendation: Great value for the quality – not the cheapest, but worth every penny for the experience. I'd highly recommend Peperboom to anyone visiting Groot Brak or passing through; just plan for a leisurely visit to make the most of it. We'll definitely be back!

We had an early dinner at Peperboom and it was delightful My wife had grilled calamari which the chef prepared for her specially and I had grilled hake with roast veggies The waiter Cameron was very friendly with good service We shall be back
